WINTER
The indoor playing environment promotes a space focused on learning and the enjoyment of the game. Our primary focus centers around how to play the game and not the final score. Results from these matches are not posted and scores are not tracked.
Teams will be shuffled each week to allow for different match ups that will test and challenge each player.
Brit-Am Coaches referee the match ups and use active in-game coaching to guide & teach the players the rules of the ‘real game’. Our goal is to create an environment for players to get better while preparing them for whatever their next step is, whether it be our PDL Match Days, a Recreational Team, or a Classic team during the Spring and Fall seasons.
Program Structure:
The Scrimmage Fest’s 5 v 5 format (with goalies) on the gym floor creates a faster speed of play where each player will need to tap into their attacking and defending concepts such as; dribbling, turning, stealing the ball and scoring goals to help them become a more well rounded player. The quicker speed of play allows players to act and react based on what they see in realistic, game-like situations.
Our professional staff prides themselves on taking the necessary steps to ensure each game fits the players’ needs, ultimately leading to better game intelligence and understanding.
SPRING AND FALL
We will host a pre-season Scrimmage Fest for U9-U12 age groups in March and then another in August. Both festivals will serve as a single day pre-season opportunity for your team. Each team will play different opponents in a shortened match format (30 minutes, switch ends about halfway through) with no scores or standings kept. Through this structure, the pressure and (perceived) need to win associated with most tournaments is eliminated. Each team will play a minimum of 3 games, providing coaches a special platform to try different formations, player line ups, and substitution rotations in a risk-free environment.
To keep the simplicity of the format and help team managers enjoy the event, there won’t be required check-in’s, player passes, or rosters. Guest players will be allowed as these are friendlies after all. Teams, coaches and managers will just be required to arrive on time, play, and help create an enjoyable and supportive playing environment for the players.
Cost: TBD (includes field and referee fees)
Registration closes TBD and schedules can be expected to be posted a few days after!
