Brit-Am Soccer Academy is a locally owned business founded in 1999 by British-born and former English professional player Steve Knapman. Sharing his love of soccer with players of all ages and training coaches to join him remains his passion to this day.
Being a Brit-Am Soccer Coach is a great opportunity to give back to your community and to develop young soccer players within a competitive and fun environment. With more than 40 enthusiastic coaches and hundreds of programs each season, we are the leading DC and Montgomery County area provider of soccer programs including classes for toddlers, preschool age children, as well as skills clinics and league play for kindergarten-12th graders. Through positive coaching and upholding the Brit-Am standard, you’ll have the opportunity to teach life-long lessons to your players, and in building their personal self-confidence, of which they’ll be able to take with them off the field, applying them to the rest of their lives!
Each year we introduce thousands of players to soccer through our fun-focused environment. Our programs also include summer day camps, high school prep camps, team training, after-school sessions, and individual training. Our staff of former professional and collegiate soccer players are licensed and well respected within the soccer community. From the inexperienced player to the advanced, from the little ones to the high school age, we can surpass the developmental needs of all players.
Our programs offer high energy, fun, age-appropriate introduction to the wonderful game of soccer. Our innovative curriculum emphasizes both soccer skills and character development. Our goal is to leave a lasting, positive impact on every child in our program.

Brit-Am Soccer Academy was established for the specific purpose of developing a player’s first youth soccer program. Our goals are to achieve a long term development process in which players of all levels can grow as individuals and as soccer players. By placing emphasis on player development first, developing great coaches, and providing them with support as an organization, and operating with maximum administrative efficiency, Brit-Am Soccer Academy is a fantastic place to grow. Our dedication to coach education ensures that as an Academy, our staff is up to date with modern training methodology, best practices, and curriculum application for all our players!
