1 - What is your favorite part about the residential camps?

My favorite part about residential camp is being able to spend time on and off the field with my teammates. We bond and get to know each other and create really fun memories.

2 - What do you like about the Brit-Am Staff?

I really like the Brit-Am Staff because they are enthusiastic about soccer and they want us to learn new skills and make it fun for us. They also want to get to know us and they spend time with us even when we are not playing soccer and tell us about their lives. Also, some staff are British and it was interesting to hear how they pronounced words and what their outlook on soccer is. All of the staff are really amazing and are really interested in their players.  Sometimes we even see the staff after camp. Last summer one of my counselors came to my club game. It is nice to see that they care so much about us.

3 - What are some of the major differences between the day camps and the residential camp?

A difference would be that at the residential camp there is more time to work on skills. At the residential camp we are able to work hard for a couple hours and them take a break and hang out with our team. You also meet new people and bond with others more at the residential camp.

4 - Do you notice a difference in team chemistry after attending Camp with several girls on the Sparks?

Definitely! Our team seemed a little divided into two groups based on personalities, but by attending camp we were able to come together. We would sometimes be in the same room talking and just hanging out. At camp we did different activities each night. When we did the talent show night that brought the team together because we all thought of a skit to do and we practiced and  made props together to go with the skit. It was great to be able to just hang out with my teammates and see what they are like off the soccer field. Also, it was a good way for new girls joining the team to get to know the players and see how they act on and off the field. It was a chance for new players to meet everyone and begin to fit in with the group.

5 - The Sparks have been doing very very well and a lot of the girls are having success playing high school soccer, too. How much of that can you attribute to attending camps together as a team?

Going to the camp gives the team a lot more time to work on specific skills that otherwise would have taken up too much time in practice so that really helps. Residential camp helps develop team chemistry.


6 - Would you recommend our residential camp to other soccer players?

Yes, I would. It is a great camp especially for young players. During the day we work hard at the camp trying to improve on all our skills, by doing possession games, shooting drills and more. During the afternoon we may play soccer tennis or some other games. Later we have World Cup where the whole camp is divided into on different teams and we scrimmage. This is especially fun because it makes everyone work hard and became competitive. The younger kids really push themselves to be at the level of the older kids. In the evening we have different activities and it really brings the whole camp together, from the younger kids to the oldest. We do a talent show, sometimes karaoke, a movie night, and soccer trivia night. If  soccer players wants to have fun, make new friends, but work hard and learn a lot, then the Brit-Am residential soccer camp is perfect for them.


7 - As you've gotten older, how has the camp changed?

Now the Sparks are some of the older kids at the camp and there have been a lot more younger kids there. I think the camp has actually became more fun as we got older. Maybe that's because we know what to expect and look forward to going. The girls on the team know each other and we have developed a certain style of play so now that we are older we can work to enhance our play and get better.
